For the 2009 Heroes campaign, the following individuals or companies have already made pledges:

At Lakeshore Elementary in Mooresville, Cathy Hill’s third-grade class had a coin drive that raised $300. Mindy Toll, a volunteer with the Red Cross, visited the classroom and discussed the Red Cross’ mission and talked about disaster preparedness. 
Also, all the first-grade classrooms and one Kindergarten classroom raised more than $100 in a penny drive on the 100th day of school.  On the 100th day, each student brought in 100 pennies to use in fun learning activities. These pennies where then donated to the local Red Cross chapter.  Red Cross volunteers went into the classrooms, thanked each class for their work, and told them what the Red Cross does in their local community.
