American Red Cross Transportation Services is provided to Mecklenburg and Iredell County residents, free of charge. The service assists residents who have no other means of transportation to remedial or preventative care appointments. Transportation is provided Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on a first come, first serve, non-emergency basis. All of our drivers are volunteers who generously give their time to the American Red Cross Transportation Service Program. Each drive holds certification in defensive driving, CPR and First Aid. Our drivers log approximately 100,000 miles a year while providing Mecklenburg and Iredell County residents with over 16,000 trips to and from medical appointments.

Transportation Services is one of the many programs made possible by the generous contributions from the community and the United Way of the Central Carolinas. Donations are always gratefully accepted as they help sustain this vital program.
Transportation Services are not available if severe weather prohibits safe operation of vehicles. Services will also be closed in observance of the following holidays: New Years Day ,Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday and Christmas Day.
