A Season of Giving

The American Red Cross is excited to share this time of year with our clients, volunteers and donors. Our organization makes this holiday season easy: You can give the gift of time, the gift of blood, or the gift of money, and know that you’re giving a gift to your neighbors through our programs and services.

Come volunteer with us!

Red Cross volunteers work directly with people, serve on boards of directors, serve as managers and provide behind the scenes support.

Helping others feels good and helps you feel good about yourself. Your local Red Cross can work with you to provide rewarding experiences, opportunities to utilize your talents or provide training to help you serve your community.

When you donate blood, you have the opportunity to save three lives.

Have you wondered what it would feel like to save someone’s life?

Many people like you in Mecklenburg and Iredell counties know this feeling. They gave nearly 50,000 units of life-saving blood last year. The lifesaving blood helps patients in our local and regional hospitals every day, making it possible for people to have surgeries, cancer treatments and other medical therapies they need to survive.

Have a safe holiday

The American Red Cross knows how important having a plan is to your safety. That’s why this holiday season, we’re teaming up with Ydrive to prevent drinking and driving.
Before you go to a holiday party or New Year’s Eve party, make sure you know how you’re getting home safely. Ydrive will not only pick you up, but they’ll get you home in your own car.
When you buy a $50 gift card for Ydrive, not only are you giving the gift of safety, but you’ll also benefit the American Red Cross, Greater Carolinas Chapter. For every gift card sold, Ydrive will give $10 back to the chapter.
