10-year-old raises money for tornado victims
After the tornadoes in Joplin, 10-year-old year old Maggie Barnes heard that a family friend lost her home and everything in it. Maggie wanted to do something to help.
In an effort to give students a taste of a real-world experience, the assignment for their persuasion speech this semester in Public Speaking 200 took a charitable turn. For this assignment, the students were asked to select a charity or non-profit organization and develop six–to-eight minute persuasive speech.
